William Gove house was built as single mans accommodation in the 70's. Some of the accommodation blocks built to house all the workers are still in use, but most are disused and in disrepair. After it was decided not to continue to use the housing blocks new accommodation was built, commonly known as GAMs. A GAM is for a single person moving to site working for Alcan. They are essentially a studio apartment, with a bench, bed, bedside table, kitchenette, and bathroom.
The Mess
Gove House provides a more sophistocated eatery than the G3 camp, however due to the much smaller number of people eating here the food tends to be less fresh than the G3 camp.
