  • Moving to Nhulunbuy

Hi my name is Sonya. My partner Phil and I are moving up to Nhulunbuy probably in mid August. We currently live in Geelong, Victoria. Phil is up there at the moment trying out the job that he has been offered at Gove motors as a mechanic and he will be up there for another 2 weeks. I am a personal trainer and a triathlon coach down in Geelong. I worked at Fernwood Womens gym in Geelong for 6 years and am now working at another gym. I run various bootcamp training sessions and also a womens triathlon squad. I am also about to do an austswim swimming teaching certificate so I will be a qualified swimming teacher by the time we make the move up there. I am also studying a certificate in fitness and nutrition for children. I was just wondering if there would be any sort of work available up there in this field. I was thinking about starting up a triathlon and fitness group if there is any need or want for it up there. Otherwise I would be looking for some sort of administration or customer service work. I worked at Safeway also for 10 years. Can anyone maybe point me in the right direction or any other ideas or feedback. Also, is the runners group posted on this website still active up there? And is there any sort of triathlon group? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps. Sonya

I have obtained work in Nhulunbuy in Jan 2010, however I do not have any accommodation. Can anyone please give me some direction as to where I can get a home to rent for 12 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

I am in the process of getting together all my facts on Gove as my husband is being transferred to a new contract with Rio and we will be moving up possibly Dec '09-Feb '10.

We have 2 small children nearly 4 & 2 and will be looking for lots for them to be involved in, i have heard about the dancing, surf club - nippers and soccer which I am pretty keen on.

I also will probably be looking for some casual work while there. I have experience in all areas of Office Admin, Accounts and Payroll (MYOB & Sage Micropay Meridian)

I am excited and a bit daunted by the move as i have never lived outside of Sydney in my life so here's to Change :)

  • Looking for work

I'm 22 and looking to see if I can get a job in Gove, I was up there this time last year and worked at the Arnehm Club.
I'll more then likely be there until mid to late Feburary so that I can be back here in NZ for the start of uni. I'm willing to work most anywhere and can pick things up quickly.
