The Tour de Arnhemland is on in 2011.
The 2011 Tour de Arnhemland is an 740 km bike tour of Arnhemland, being proposed between 27th July 2011 and 6th August 2011.
The ride will take you through some of the most remote and interesting tracks in Arnhemland.
The official start is from Nhulunbuy on Wednesday 27th July and the official finish is in Nhulunbuy on the Saturday 6th August approx.
The cost of the tour will be approximately $1000 per person.
The ride is a fundraiser. Our nominated beneficiary in St John of NT, and the funds will be distributed between the towns in Arnhemland along the route of the Tour.

Some more details for riders and crew
Each rider or crew is allowed one large sports bag of personal gear for the trip. These will be carried in the support cars provided.
Supplied by the organisers:
All food - plenty of it - Conno is a maestro chef and there is all the energy things during the day you will need which are supplied
Accomodation on Gove - billetting will be provided
Major bike repairs - stands, tools, lubes pumps (if you have specialities you will need to provide)
First aid - have very good coverage
Satellite comms - usuall for emergencies only
Supplied by you:
A mountain bike - your call, your on dirt , corrugations, sand etc for 780km, at least front suspension, in good working nick. basically you'll regret too many shortcuts. Get as good as you can justify.
A mozzie dome type tent - weather can be cool (but not too bad). A fly cover is highly recommended, possibility of some dews inland.
A sleeping bag - moderate temperatures, as menttioned can get cool, but not cold.
A pumpup camping mattress - the small camping ones, your bones will thank you in the morning.
Toiletries - but not too much in the way of soaps etc as washing in pristine rivers, soaps, shampoos not appreciated by the wildlife in the waterways. Just enough toiletries so you can still socialise at the end of the day.
Camelbak - at least 2 litres, almost compulsory, very much recommended
Clothing - bike riding - which you can wash out each evening, plus camping and sleeping clothes - cool evening weather
Bike riding - helmut compulsory, wide brim attachment (sun protection), bright vis shirt recommended.
Bike spares - if unique to you or your bike if you have special tastes. Most common spares will be provided
Cameras and videos - as you wish
Please note NO ALCOHOL during the trip . Arnhemland is a prohibited area. Liquor restrictions apply.
