Nhulunbuy is located on the Gove peninsula on the northern most tip of Arnhem Land. It is home to the Rio Tinto Alcan bauxite to alumina mine and refinery. Arnhem land and Nhulunbuy have a very colourful history going back many thousands of years with some of the most prominent aboriginal culture in Australia. It has played host to strategic national defence posts during wars and is one of Australia's most unique landscapes.
